About Me

In my other life, I was a professional hand quilter. With age (ugh) and a little destruction to my arms and hands, I had to retire from the actual hand quilting and taught classes. I guess it's the 'ones that can, do, and the ones that can't, teach'. Right?

I wrote a book entitled "Quilt As Desired" in 1998 and it sold so well, that I had 2 reprints of the hard cover book. I was So proud of that book! My first book on my first computer! That's when we were just learning to email
and the forums and chat rooms. WOW! How things
have changed!

My clients for my hand quilting included individuals from all over the world but also included authors of quilt making publications who needed their quilt models hand quilted. Red Wagon Publications was my first publication customer. I was with them as their hand quilter from their second book to their 12th book. When Linda Brannock of Star Quilts and Jan Patek went their own ways with their own businesses, I quilted for them for a while as well.

I also designed some simple quilt designs for McCall's magazines and Harris Publications as well. It was a BUSY time for me from 1990-2002 I can tell ya!

In the interim, I was the curator of our local historic museum and cataloged and restored the beautiful quilts that were on display there, along with the costumes of the 1800's. What an adventure that was!
Now, I'm retired, loving it, and decided to update my book and turn it into an Instant Access PDF and Kindle format.

I have a dear friend who is also an editor and computer whiz and I couldn't have done this without her. THANK YOU, KAREN GASS!

I SO appreciate that you dropped in to visit my Blog and would love to hear from you!
